Wow, summer is almost over! This has been a hectic summer for me and my family, but there were several bright spots.
In late July we were very fortunate to be gifted a week at a friend’s beach house in Oak Island, NC. The house we were in was a short walk to the beach, in a small quiet neighborhood. It is filled with light and warmth, and we felt at home almost immediately.
The beach is a special place for me, and always will be. Our week on Oak Island was filled with sunshine, crashing waves, new friends, and several small adventures.
I plan on a few paintings inspired by events and vista I enjoyed while we are there.
As a modest thank-you gift, I painted the house that we stayed in for it’s owner. This is that simple 8×10 watercolor.
Years ago I painted and sold a few “home portraits”. Painting this was very nostalgic and pleasant.
