Well, after decades of inspiration and amazement, I decided to let Uncle Bob guide me through a painting this weekend.

I chose a scene with his trademark mountains capped with snow, a little water, and a few trees for good measure. Bob’s version included the almost inevitable cabin and trail, with snow-covered bushes all around. I decided to forgo a few of those elements, for fear that I might screw up an other-wise decent first attempt.

The limited palette helped make it easier, and now I can’t wait for colder weather and the chance to emulate Bob R. again.

This is a 12 x 16 oil-on-canvas. Enjoy!
